Is it true that Q5s are 1/2 the cost of an onsite W-2 employee?

Yes!

Actually, Q5s typically save 50 to 70% – so you can buy 2 or 3 for the price of one W-2. Our catalog of over 220 job roles breaks down the savings for you in detail. For those businesses requiring a US-based Q5, our centers located in small towns in are very cost-effective – typically 20-30% less than urban-based W-2s cost.

Are Q5s similar to permanent, exempt W-2 employees?

Yes! Extremely so.

With a permanent W-2 employee, you hire a specific person to do a specific job – same with a Q5. Both types of employees report directly to the supervisor or manager of your choice. Both types learn about your your business over time. Both are permanent additions to your team, so you rely on them to take up new responsibilities and advance within the organization. Both are critical to your business, so you likely invest in their training, provide incentives and recognition. Both W-2 employees and Q5s would likely be part of your succession planning strategies.

For both the Q5 and the W-2 employee, the process of hiring begins in the same way: you  start with a job description and a specific set of requirements, and you search for the best talent that you can find within a targeted amount you would like to pay your employee.

A Q5, however, is provided on a contractual basis and does not actually become your employee. So while you get all of the benefits of a permanent employee mentioned above, we remove all of the overhead and headaches associated with W-2 employees. For instance, you can terminate a Q5 for any reason, without any need to worry about severance pay, unemployment compensation, or other termination costs. You won’t even need to pay for the empty office space and unused equipment left behind.

While many of the roles performed by Q5s would be hired as exempt employees here in the US, your Q5 may work overtime at no additional cost, as long as overtime is justified and reasonable. Just as a W-2 employee might devote extra time on a project to earn recognition and opportunities to advance, your Q5 is free to do the same – without incurring additional costs.

Do Q5s come with the same qualifications as my current W-2 employees?

Yes!

That’s an excellent question, since it all depends on where you want to use the 50% that you save when you hire a Q5.

  • Hire one Q5 with W-2 equivalent education and skill for 1/2 the cost.
  • Hire two W-2 equivalent Q5s for approximately the same cost.
  • Hire one Q5 with substantially better qualifications for a fraction of what a W-2 costs.

Q5 strives to bring employees that represent the very best talent the world has to offer.  Each of our centers has been established because of proven ability to deliver, exceptional recruitment capability, strong ties to local universities and colleges, and best-practice methods. Our facilities are large, modern and equipped to meet the demanding needs of our US-based customers. They are magnets for great talent because they are highly desirable places to work.

Where are Q5s professional centers located?

Q5 is on a course to provide every type of knowledge work using the very best talent the world has to offer, and do so at the best price possible. We go to the most cost-effective locations in world, find the best talent, and bring them to our customers so they can hire sooner and grow faster. By growing with cost-effective “below the line” capacity, you will  free up money to invest in more W-2s that focus on “above the line” conceptual work.

We find that the most cost-effective locations with the best talent also happen to be locations that are developed or developing, but facing economic challenges. Presently, Q5s are located in the US (small cities and towns), Asia, Africa, and South America.

Do Q5s take vacations, observe holidays, or ever need sick days?

Of course they do! And, just like you would make arrangements with an on-site W-2 employee, arrangements need to be made when you use a Q5. We simply need to understand your requirements, then tailor the service to ensure that you get the coverage you need when you need it.
